Advanced HIV Clinical Training
The Mississippi Resource Center of the Delta Region AIDS Education and Training Center (ETC) is offering an advanced HIV clinical training course. This is ongoing clinical training offered to physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, dentists and pharmacists on an as requested basis. This training is held at the Adult Special Care Clinic and the Pediatric Infectious Disease Clinic of the University of Mississippi Medical Center, and the STD Clinic of the Mississippi State Department of Health; all clinics are located at the Jackson Medical Mall in Jackson, Mississippi. We also offer this clinical training in your clinic on request.
SPONSORS: The University of Mississippi School of Medicine and School of Dentistry, School of Pharmacy, School of Nursing, the Delta Region AIDS Education and Training Center and UMC’s Division of Continuing Health Professional Education.

ACCREDITATION:
AMA (Physicians) – This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essentials and Standards of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through co-sponsorship with the American Medical Association and the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. The AMA is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The AMA designates this education for a maximum of 8.2 category 1 credits towards the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those credits that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.
ADA/AGD (Dental) – The University of Mississippi School of Dentistry is recognized as an approved provider of continuing dental education by the American Dental Association Continuing Education Recognition Program (ADA CERP) and the Association of Continuing Dental Education (ACDE). Formal continuing education programs of the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry are accepted by AGD for Fellowship/Mastership credit. The University of Mississippi School of Dentistry approves this course for 8.2 hours of dental continuing education credit hours.
ACPE (Pharmacists) – The University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. A credit of 8.2 hours of continuing pharmaceutical education credit will be awarded, for this program. To obtain credit for this program, attendees must sign in at the beginning of the program and complete a program evaluation at the conclusion. Activity # 032-999-05-046-L02.
MNF (Nursing) – The University of Mississippi School of Nursing Continuing Education Program is approved as a provider of continuing education in nursing by the Mississippi Nurses Foundation, which is accredited as an approver of continuing education in nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. As an approved provider, the University of Mississippi School of Nursing designates this offering as meeting the criteria for 18.5 contact hours. Participation in and successful completion of this activity will be determined by the participant signing in, attending the sessions for which credit is desired, and returning the completed evaluation tool. Each participant should claim only those hours of credit that he or she actually spends in the educational activity.
Accredited status refers only to continuing nursing education activities and does not imply ANCC Commission on Accreditation approval or endorsement of any commercial products.
